Oktoberfest 2009 - Get the Facts!
September 19, 2009 is the kick-off date for this years Oktoberfest 2009. You can expect the same enormous crowds, plenty of wiener schnitzel and of course- BEER! Munich is always the place to be during Oktoberfest and this year is no exception. As usual, the festivities will start with the official tapping of the keg my Munich's mayor.
- Festival tents open at 10 AM (9 AM on the weekends) and close at 11:30 PM
- Beer is available for purchase until 10:30 PM
- Carnival rides are Monday - Thursday: 10am - 11:30pm Friday, Saturday: 10am - 12am Sundays and holidays: 10am - 11:30pm
- Entrance to Oktoberfest is Free!
- Get there by late morning to get seats in a tent!
- Smoking is only allowed in the Oktoberfest tents

- Paulaner: Armbrustschützenzelt, Winzerer Fähndl, Käfer's Wies'n Schänke

Oktoberfest 2009 will be a great festival again this year. (Click here if you need a chep flight to get there!) Of course, if you can't go, you still may want to get a beer stein or other Oktoberfest memorabilia.
